What are the free games on the Epic Games Store this week? Each week in 2025, Epic is giving away free games for you to own forever. These games are separate to the free-to-play games available on the store, and you only have one week to claim them.
Epic has given away over $10,000 worth of games since 2018, and it doesn’t look like they’re going to stop any time soon. It’s worth checking in each week to see which games are on offer. Occasionally, you can even redeem in-game goodies and exclusive items for your favorite free PC games. Let’s take a look at the free Epic games right now, and what to expect from upcoming games on the Epic Games Store.
What are the free Epic games this week?
Here’s what’s free on the Epic Store right now:

Backpack Hero
Forget deckbuilders, it’s all about backpackbuilders now. At least, this is the case in Backpack Hero, a turn-based, dungeon-crawling roguelite that requires elite inventory management to succeed. Power isn’t only gained through picking up new loot, but by arranging your pack to get the most out of it. It’s an incredibly creative concept, and one you should check out.

Figment
If surrealism is your bag, then you’re going to love Figment. The isometric action-adventure game has you dive into a Bosch-esque world and explore the inner machinations of the human mind. Though Figment is filled with whimsy, there are more than a few nightmares to fight off inside its manifested mind.

Upcoming free Epic games
Indie games Figment 2 and Sky Racket will be free to download and keep from July 10 until July 17, 2025.
The next mystery games are locked up tight in the MEGA sale vault, looking to bolster the current Mega Sale event, so it’s likely another game will be dropped nearer the time. Check back closer to the time for full confirmation of the next free games.
