Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7 review discusses Camden Casey’s last appearance, the aftermath of Bode and Gabriela’s breakup, the passion brewing between Bode and the newly single Audrey, and all the tension under the Station 42 roof.

Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7 was our last time with Captain Camden Casey (Jared Padalecki), leaving behind murky feelings.
We knew he wasn’t going to be a guy everyone loved. In fact, it seemed like everyone hated him.
Vince vouched for him at first, but his feelings changed drastically after the eagle sanctuary in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6. Finding out Camden wasn’t going to pass Bode made things hellah worse.
Sharon hated him because he tried to push Bode to be the best, even if it meant he broke the rules and ignored orders. Until it happened to him.
Funny how Camden held it against Bode when he went rogue and chose to stay with Station 42 to save baby eagles instead of returning to the fire station as ordered by Casey during Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6.
Bode’s refusal to follow orders was grounds for not graduating. For the entire episode, Bode operated as if it were his last day.
Chime in fanatics on your thoughts about Casey’s behaviors. Was he right to consider failing Bode for disobeying an officer during the eagle nest fire? Or did Bode do right by following the orders of a higher superior officer, even if that was his dad?
Instead of apologizing for not following the rules, Bode leaned into his rebellion and used it to prove to Casey that he deserved to become a firefighter.
Casey is just as reckless — if not worse — than Bode.
Ironic how it’s usually Bode doing the risky heroic stuff that puts his life — and usually others — at risk.
Were Camden and Bode heroes who saved the day by wrestling the gun away from the bad guy? Or did Camden’s actions escalate the situation into a dangerous fire hazard?
The robber already shot Audrey when he caught her trying to reach a cell phone. He was desperate. And they knew who he was.9
If bullets hadn’t hit the butane tanks, there wouldn’t have been a fire. But the fire allowed everyone to escape. And it brought Station 42 back to the scene to get into action after the disappointment of the original false alarm.
Camden’s momentary lapse of presence during the call showed a crack in his armor. Vince was right when he said Casey had demons he needed to confront.
Camden has unresolved issues. We have our fingers crossed that we’ll explore them more with the Fire Country: Surfside spinoff starring Captain Casey as the lead, back in his neck of the non-woods of SoCal.

Regardless of personal feelings, he did a great job shaping Bode and Audrey into the rising stars of CFD Station 42. It’ll be fun to see the tensions in the station house with all the hookups happening.
Gabriela and Jake are hooking up again. Called it!
Jake has been dragging his feet about moving on. But now that he’s lost Genevieve for good, he’s floundering without a purpose. Gabriela is familiar, and unresolved feelings have always sweltered beneath the surface.
The episode ended with him pissed at Vince, but should he be? Maybe if he had taken Vince’s advice, Gene wouldn’t have decided to move in with her biological father and leave Jake behind.
Isn’t it best for her to be with her siblings and father since her mom and grandparents are gone? Jake’s career isn’t exactly safe.
Audrey is single now and shared an intimate celebratory meal with Bode, with enough heat surging between the two to start a five-alarm fire.
We gotta admit she’s one bad bihh. She took a bullet to the arm without complaint and still went back inside a blazing (there might have been more weed smoke than fire smoke) store to save the life of the guy who shot her.
But how will Gabriela react when she finds out Bode’s moved on to blonder — and more kickass — turnouts? Will she start using Jake to feed her addiction to distraction now that Bode left?
How far will Gabriela fall before she realizes she’s on a route of self-punishment?
She’s been spiraling downwards since Fire Country Season 3 started. I’ll likely gain haters for this, but she’s been on a slippery slope since she gave up her dream of diving in Fire Country Season 1.
She makes decisions based on a wave of emotions and rash behaviors, which usually end badly with the wrong choice.
After the devastating breakup in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 6, she spent drunken time with Casey. Who believes his claims to Vince and Sharon that nothing happened?
Then there’s her risque diving off the cliffs, to the point that she injured her shoulder and then lied about the cause. Is Sharon right to be hounding Gabriela so hard about her uncharacteristic behaviors?
How about invading Gabriela’s privacy by entering the AirStream without permission? I say Sharon had all the rights in the world to go inside. First, it’s her property. Second, it’s parked inside the fire station. Third, Gab’s is not okay.
And right now, she’s pushing away anyone close enough to influence her away from her self-inflicted wounds.
From the inside of the trailer and Gabriela’s outbursts to Sharon before her hissy fit storming off, anyone who’s been there knows she’s close to rock bottom.
She’s learned from the best how to lash out at those closest to you.
Manny spent most of the episode pretty angry, first with Sharon because of his guilt for not being there to help Gabriela. And then with Eve for letting Three Rock serve prison food at Bode’s graduation.
Granted, there were other cadets (several females) getting diplomas from Captain Casey, but the crowd was there for 24k — and Jamesey, if we’re honest.
The graduation ceremony was a great way to end Casey’s time on the show. It was too much fun to watch him call out Three Rock. Most people wouldn’t acknowledge a fire crew made of prisoners.
Camden is right about one thing. There are many blurry lines at Station 42 between personal and professional. Vince and Sharon struggle with separating family from work with their adopted pack of firefighters, which now includes ex-inmate Audrey James.
Right now, the helicopter parenting of their non-blood children has turned work into a tense minefield of resentment and overstepping.
Did anyone else notice the trend of dissension in the rankings in this episode? It seems like every superior had a rather heated exchange with a subordinate.
Sharon and Gabriela. Sharon and Manny. Eve and Manny. Vince and Jake. Camden and Bode.
That’s a lot of bad blood for one episode. What do you think fanatics?
Just enough drama to keep things interesting? Or too much drama to the point that it’s becoming an action-packed soap opera?
Speaking of action, let’s hear your thoughts on this week’s emergency call. It was supposed to be a false fire alarm, but it became a hostage situation.
And how do you like the way the show introduced Captain Casey? Is there enough potential for him to score a spinoff? The writers did a much better job setting up that series than they have so far with Sheriff Country, which is coming to CBS in 2025.
A hostage situation seemed like the perfect time to bring back Mickey Fox. However, it’s not the first episode where Station 42 firefighters get held at gunpoint without the cops getting involved.
We know Mickey is set to make a return to Fire Country before it goes on a fall hiatus, so that is exciting.
